Severn is comprised of a variety of small, charming rural communities, including Coldwater, Fesserton, Marchmont, Port Severn, Washago, and West Shore.
Coldwater is nestled among a scenic rural landscape, has two museums and historic downtown with eclectic shops and cafes. This is the perfect place to stop and rest while cycling through Severn.
Entrenched in history, Coldwater is home to some of the county’s oldest buildings including the historic Coldwater Mill, built in 1833.
Washago is located on the tip of Lake Couchiching and is an outdoor playground for both residents and visitors alike. Enjoy paddling, take a dip in the lake or relax at the waterfront park. During the summer months, this quiet community bustles with activity as hundreds come to explore the area.
Marchmont is one of the area’s most desirable neighborhoods to live in with locally renowned school, lots of outdoor recreation spots, and a strong sense of community. Homes in this town are often situated on large lots with ample forested areas surrounding them.


Westshore is home to a network of canals off of Lake Couchiching and is known to the locals as an avid boaters paradise. Park your watercraft at your own backyard dock and enjoy endless days on the water.
Conveniently located just seconds away from highway 11, the community of Westshore has some great local businesses close by including Weber’s Hamburgers and their own private beach for residents to enjoy.
