Oro Medonte

Oro-Medonte is a thriving rural community of more than 20,000 full-time residents. Located between the cities of Barrie and Orillia, Oro-Medonte serves as the gateway through which Northern and Southern Ontario are connected and is conveniently situated for residents, tourists, and businesses alike.

Oro-Medonte is vast with a network of smaller communities within. Some examples are; Craighurst, Hawkestone, Horseshoe Valley, Mount St. Louis, Shanty Bay, Sugarbush, and Warminster.

Craighurst is often referred to as the gateway to recreation with all sorts of activities at your fingertips. Just minutes from the urban centers of Barrie and Orillia, this neighbourhood offers an escape from urban congestion with daily necessities in walking distance and steps away from the Copeland Forest trails.

Hawkestone is a desirable quiet community nestled just east of Hwy 11, on the shores of Lake Simcoe. Beautiful century homes line the main intersection with lots of heritage to offer. Home to the Hawkestone Yacht Club and the Bonita Glen Girl Guide Camp, it truly is a quaint place to be.

Home to some of the province’s best ski hills, Oro-Medonte has not one but two ski resorts – Horseshoe ValleyMount St. Louis Moonstone. Within a short drive from one another, both offer great hills for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing with 5 star amenities such as Hotels, Restaurants, Nordic Spa, and more.

Warminster is a small but mighty community that is the perfect place for families looking to settle down. Surrounded by farmland, Warminster has the rural vibe but is conveniently located along Hwy 12 and just a short drive to Orillia. Unique features of the area include Hewitts Fun Farm and Quayles Brewery.
